Healthtech Innovation Queensland: Show Me The Money

Healthtech Innovation Queensland supports and promotes a dynamic healthcare innovation community in Queensland where all stakeholders in the healthcare continuum can network, collaborate and inspire health technology entrepreneurship, commercialisation and investment.

The Human Bionics Student Association are proud to help organise Healthtech Innovation Queensland‘s meetup on November 18, 2015.

Held at the University of Queensland Centre for Clinical Research next to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, the event theme was funding and resourcing healthtech start-ups which featured an open floor panel discussion about accelerators, angel investment, private equity, crowd funding and grants.

On October 14, Dr Stuart Hazell kindly met with students from the Human Bionics Student Association, QUT Fellowship of Medical Engineers, and UQ Medical Society to talk about Amblyoptica and biotechnology commercialisation.

With more than 35 years of experience in life sciences and biotechnology, Dr Hazell also spoke about the importance of gaining in-depth knowledge and ‘hard skills’, and also provided valuable insight on how technology will shape healthcare in the future.

Fellowship of Medical Engineers: Careers & Industry Event 2015

Our friends from the QUT Fellowship of Medical Engineers – who are also key members of the Human Bionics Student Association – hosted a fantastic Careers Evening & Industry Night on September 8, 2015.
